Most frequent questions and answers
What About My Kids?
Our KidsLife Ministry works towards having each child build a personal relationship with Jesus and to learn to share Him with others. From our youngest in the nursery, to our elementary aged kids, it is our heart to partner with each family to provide opportunities to learn and grow with Jesus.
What About My Students?
- Our goal is to help students 7th grade – 12th grade develop a passion for Jesus and compassion for others.
- Students will join in the small group, LIFT, at 9:30 am in the Youth Room by the All-Purpose Room on the first floor.
What Should I Wear?
Whatever is comfortable for you! At Grace, you will find people dressed in everything from business casual to jeans with sneakers.
What Is Communion at Grace?
We celebrate Holy Communion to remind us of the life, death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. Through the sharing of bread and wine (grape juice), we are
reminded not only of God’s love and purpose but also the empowered unity of
the community faithful to spread the message of Christ’s love in word and deed.
At Grace Church we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion seven to eight
times a year, primarily aligning with the liturgical seasons of the Christian year. In
addition, when possible, we offer a one-hour drive-through communion for those
who find it difficult to attend morning worship. In addition, on request, the
Pastor is willing to bring Communion to your home.
We believe in an open table. Communion is for anyone who has put their trust in Jesus, no matter their age. If parents feel that a child has adequate understanding of communion, then they may participate.

Join a Small Group
Want to get involved? We have plenty of small groups to meet your needs. Small groups meeting on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.
Baptism
We believe Baptism is a sign of God’s loving grace. In infant baptism we promise to do everything in our power to help our children come to know Jesus Christ until that time when they accept the salvation of Christ themselves. For those who are baptized later in life, we celebrate their baptism as a new beginning in faith. They are now disciples of Jesus Christ who join a community of faithful disciples eager to show God’s love to the world. Baptisms at Grace Church may be celebrated by sprinkling, pouring or immersion depending on the wishes of the person. If you are interested in the Sacrament of Baptism please contact us at Grace Church: office@gracehummelstown.org or (717) 566-2997
Membership
Grace hosts a small group study, A Disciple’s Path, for all new members in the fall and again in the spring. This gathering time allows us to get to know one another and also answer any questions along the way. The study helps us develop spiritual practices, discover our own unique gifts and become engaged in ministry that brings transformation in not only our own lives but the lives of others, and the world. If you are interested in membership at Grace, please fill out the Connect Card here
