We are just 4 weeks away from assembling the 420 backpacks requested for the 2016/2017 school year and there is still much to be accomplished!
Currently, the program has received nearly $5800 in community support and $4600 from our Grace family towards the $17,000 goal. At this point, the program is able to provide 260 of the 420 requested backpacks. We still need to raise $6,400 to complete the remaining 160 backpacks.
We have always been able to provide backpacks for local marginalized students over the past 16 years and we are confident that God will touch the hearts of our Grace family and community to meet the current needs of this outreach.
You can help us reach our goal by supporting the project with monetary donations, supplies and prayer. On average, a fully-stocked backpack cost is $40 but the recipients receive more than needed school supplies – they also receive Christ’s love when we become His hands and feet in our community.
We will be accepting donations through August. Look for our “Backpack” collection box located in the narthex.
We can all share our blessings with others and make a difference in our community.
