2017 altar flower sponsorships are now available for reservation
. Please refer to the calendar posted on the bulletin board in the Narthex. We kindly request a donation of $30 for all sponsorships, which can be paid at the church office, or dropped in the collection basket with a note, “flower sponsorship.” You may take your sponsored flowers after the 10:45 a.m. service or the following day. If you choose to leave your flowers, (or any flowers that remain after Monday), become part of our “Joy Times Two” program. We repurpose the altar flowers into several smaller bouquets and deliver them to our homebound members to add a little sunshine to their lives. Questions may be directed to the church office at 717-566-2897 or office@gracehummelstown.org. We appreciate your support!

On Monday, Dec. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m., Grace Christian Preschool will be having a “School Spirit Night” fundraiser at Chipotle Mexican Grill in downtown Hershe
y. Chipotle will donate 50 percent of the evening’s proceeds to the preschool! A flier must be shown, or you must tell the cashier you are supporting the preschool, to get credit for each order. Fliers will be in available in next week’s bulletin. During these busy days of holiday preparation, come join us and take a break for dinner at Chipotle.

Greetings for our homebound members: This holiday season, please take a few minutes to send a cheery greeting to our homebound members
. Cards and letters are an excellent way to express our care for those members who are physically less able to attend our worship services and other activities. Please refer to the “Remember These Folks” listing on the bulletin board in our Narthex for names and addresses.

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2017

Greeters and information desk volunteers: In 2016, we utilized both a paper sign-up sheet at the information desk and the “Sign-up Genius” online website for registrations of Sunday greeters and information desk volunteers. After reviewing usage, it is apparent that the majority of participants prefer the paper format. Therefore, beginning Jan. 1, 2017, we will no longer be utilizing the online website. Sign-up sheets for January through February are now available at the information desk. If you’ve never volunteered before, please consider doing so in 2017. We appreciate your assistance.

Communicating with Grace: We are in the process of phasing out the use of AOL for our email communications. All Grace church and daycare/preschool staff now have Google account email addresses, which, in most cases, are a combination of their first and last name and the “@gracehummelstown.org” tag. Please make sure you are using these new addresses. Failure to do so may result in lost messages as the old AOL system will no longer forward messages to Google.
For your information, addresses for office staff are as follows:
Rev. John: johnschaefer@gracehummelstown.org
Sandy Grimes: sandygrimes@gracehummelstown.org
Tammy Houck: tammyhouck@gracehummelstown.org
Deb Andrews: office@gracehummelstown.org
We appreciate your assistance as we improve our communications process.
